This Preston Park tree, with the bark stripped away, received a good bit of attention on Facebook over the last week. Many people were concerned over apparent vandalism that they thought would kill the tree. The Times inquired with City Manager Randy Hinchliffe to learn that the tree is an old Black Walnut tree that has been dead for two year and is awaiting removal. Elementary Principal’s Report: The fifth grade ski program is underway and the costs are being offset by sales of a K-12 School Cookbook. Proceeds will support students for this year and future year. WAITSBURG – Sheriff's Office officials were on the scene to retrieve a dead body found in Preston Park at about 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Tues., Feb. 21. WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg High School National Honor Society raised over $1,000 this school year by hosting potato bars during basketball and volleyball games. Rivers swelled, but there was no significant flooding as feared, last week. Foot thick "icebergs" blocked Coppei Creek and found a home in the pasture owned by Kyle and Margaret Terry on the south end of Waitsburg.
