Dayton's annual Evening at the Depot fundraiser has taken a new twist this year with a Farm-to-Table Dinner replacing the traditional benefit auction. On Saturday, August 3, diners will enjoy local food prepared by local chefs as they take in a summer evening of food, drinks and live music performed by Bobby K and Mike McQuary. DAYTON -- At approxi- mately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, responders located the body of 52-year- old Gary Spainhower at the scene of a fire that destroyed a travel trailer at Shangra-La RV Park just west of Dayton on Highway 12. DAYTON - The Port of Columbia is joining in a partnership with a group called Walla Walla Flat Roof Educational Energy - or "WW-FREE" - to install a solar power generation system on the roof of the first Blue Mountain Station building. A 52-year-old woman from the Tri-Cities was accidentally shot in the foot with a .22 pistol on Cougar Canyon Road, in Columbia County, on the evening of Saturday, June 22. The victim had just recently purchased the gun, and her husband was dem- onstrating how to clear the chamber of bullets when the weapon accidentally discharged and shot her in the ankle. Summer Food Program Begins June 17th DAYTON - Anyone ages 19 and younger is eligible for free breakfast and lunch through the summer food program at the Dayton Elementary Multi-purpose Room.
