  • Honor Speech - Caitlyn Jones

    The Times|Jun 9, 2016

When I think of Waitsburg High School's Class of 2016, I think of a truly rare group of classmates. Nothing can ever compare to this group of unique individuals. There have been many ups and downs, but we never gave up on each other. We know one another's weaknesses and build up each other's strengths. Our class has always done things differently and I can assure you this was frustrating at times for the teachers. How they were willing to put up with us, I could honestly not tell you. Their...

As we sit before you today, soon to be graduates, I can assure you each of us are thinking one thing, this is the start of our futures, the next chapter in our lives, but what will I make of myself?Everything we have done up to this point in our lives, with the help of our teachers and families, has been preparing us for our futures "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." I believe nothing to be truer than how our education we were...

  • Valedictorian Address - Stuart Walsh

    The Times|Jun 9, 2016

Well, this sure came quick. It seems like just weeks ago we were all walking into Waitsburg High School without the slightest clue of how to navigate hallways and seemingly endless stairs to our classes. I'm sure I can speak for most of the class saying: I can vividly remember racing up, down, and through the halls in a frantic search for the correct classroom and even barging into the wrong one. But Hey, look at us now, we lived through it. We know this school like the back of our hands as well...

  • How Do We Keep Lincoln's Promise to Veterans and their Families?

    Jaidyn Brown|Jun 2, 2016

Veterans have a lot of things that are hard for them to have access to. Some of them don’t have access to much money, or when they return to civilian life some of them don’t have access to a place to live because they might have been away for so long. Lincoln said, “To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan.” So how do we do this? One of the things that many people see is that veterans don’t have homes or jobs once they get out of the service. Getting veterans in a home or maintaining a job is something...
