WAITSBURG – Area exhibitors showed their talents at the 62nd annual Waitsburg Livestock Show & Fair at the Waitsburg Fairgrounds last weekend, June 11 and 12. Organizer Sandra Farley said the fair received approximately 145 applied arts entries from both youth and adults, up significantly from past years. Dayton Memorial Library offers summer reading programs for adults and children DAYTON—Summer reading program for adults and children are in the works at the Dayton Memorial Library, beginning on June 18. Elementary school students from Waitsburg and Prescott wrapped up their school year with a visit to the Bruce House Museum for Pioneer Day. SPRINGFIELD – Two former Dayton High School students were involved in a head-on collision on the Mackenzie River Highway near Springfield, Ore. over Memorial Day weekend. The crash left the driver, Kenndra Haney, age 21, dead and severely injured passenger Chase Holden, age 19.
