Carruthers said his wife, Danielle, convinced him to swap his truck for a car that got better gas mileage, hence the Chevy HHR. He said he woke up one day to find the hood of the car missing. He later got a call from Don Mooney of Walla Walla who copped to taking the hood. "If you're going to drive a car that ugly, you at least need to have flames on it," said Mooney, who added his special touch.
