Drug Take Back & Shred Truck Fundraiser, April 27

WAITSBURG—A drug take-back event and a shred truck will be at the Waitsburg Fire Department at 234 Main Street, in Waitsburg, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sat., April 27.

Turn in unused or expired medication for safe disposal. No needles, sharps or syringes, mercury thermometers, oxygen containers, chemotherapy or radioactive substances. A container will be available for household discarded needles and lancets.

Walla Walla Area Crime Watch will accept donations at a shred truck, which will be on site. Funds help with graffiti abatement and community events such as National Night Out, Coffee with a Copy, Lunch with a Copy, Safe Assured ID program, maintaining the McGruff costumer, supporting the Law Enforcement Citizen’s Academy and the Crime Free Rental Housing Program, and more.

Protect your identity by shredding old bank statements, canceled checks, tax and medical records. No businesses, please. If you have more than four grocery bags to be shredded, call 520-3735.


Price Computers will also be on hand for the safe and secure disposal of computers and electronics. Call 541-938-7569 with questions.

In 2018, for both April and October’s Take Back Days, 915.5 lbs of drugs were collected and 17,000 pounds of material was shredded. Crime Watch received $2,860 in donations.
