DAYTON—Forty businesses participated in the first of its kind Main Street Open House, during Dayton on Tour, according to Chamber Director Melissa Bryan. And as a result, there are several sale offers pending, she said.

Bryan said that local hotels and motels were at, or close to, full occupancy during the event.

“The Art show at Wenaha Gallery was a smashing success, with 75 folks listening to the astronaut (Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger),” said Bryan.

AJ Carriages provided event goers free carriage rides, courtesy of Pacific Power, and Oktoberfest and the Autumn KidZone at Blue Mountain Station were a “perfect addition” to Dayton on Tour, she said.

Bryan said tickets are now available for the Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, which will take place at the Columbia County Fairgrounds Pavilion on Nov. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $35 and includes dinner and drink.

The theme this year is Embrace CommUNITY, and the chamber is showcasing Dayton’s active clubs and organizations.

In addition, the chamber needs twenty chamber business members to create table centerpieces featuring their businesses.
