WDFW Seeking Input on Budget Shortfall

August 9, 2018

OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking public input into a projected $30 million shortfall in the budget for 2019-21 that will result in program cuts and real impacts to game and non-game species.

For the past eight months, the WDFW has been working with an advisory group representing hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation, business, conservation, and local government who have determined that funding should come from a broad-based source such as the state budget’s general fund, supplemented with funds from licenses and fees.

To learn more about the 2019 budget and participate in a survey, go to: http://www.wdfw.wa.org. Go to the “About WDFW” tab and then to the “2019 Budget Development” tab.
