WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg Commercial Club and the Waitsburg Town Hall board of directors will host a candidates’ forum on Wednesday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Town Hall. Candidates for Walla Walla County Sheriff and for two state representative positions from Legislative District 16 are expected to be in attendance.

Walla Walla County Sheriff Candidates include former sheriff’s deputy Tom Cooper, current Undersheriff Mark Crider and Matthew Stroe, director of security at Whitman College.

State representative Position 1 candidates are Republican Bill Jenkin, of Prosser, and Democrat Everett Maroon, of Walla Walla.

State representative Position 2 candidates are Democrat Rebecca Francik, of Pasco, and Republicans Dan Mildon, of Kennewick, and Skyler Rude, of Walla Walla.

Social (half) hour will be from 6 – 6:30, and the moderated forum will run from 6:30 to 8. Jim Davison, of Waitsburg, will moderate the forum.

Light refreshments will be served.
