Dayton High Principal Shaber resigns

After three years in Dayton, Paul Shaber accepts new position in Richland

Dayton—Dayton Middle and High School Principal Paul Shaber has announced that he will resign at the end of this school year to take a job in Richland.

“Paul has been an important part of our team here in Dayton,” said Superintendent Doug Johnson. “Using Paul’s leadership skills, the Middle and High School staff continued their growth as a team, and as educators.

“Paul worked well with students and was a strong advocate for them in the classroom, and in activities,” Johnson added. “He was willing to step in where needed and provide leadership or support. He worked hard to provide a safe and engaging environment for students and for staff. Together with his teachers, they worked to engage, connect and inspire students.”

Shaber has been with the District for three years, and June 30 will be his last day on the job.

Shaber said his time in Dayton has provided him and his family with a great number of positive relationships, and professional growth.

“The skills I have gained here are essential to a career in education, and it is time for me to take another step forward in a larger school setting,” he said.

The District is currently advertising for a new MS/HS principal.
