Making Friends at the Livestock Pens

Work on upgrading the Waitsburg 4-H livestock barn and pens at the Waitsburg Fairgrounds is ongoing, and animals are already in residence, including the first pair of goats. The pens have been cleaned and renovated, a fingerprint scanner tracks how much time kids spend at the pens each day, and a bio security station has been installed. "John Gleason, of Affordable Concrete, will pour pads for the wash pens at each barn, we'll get sawdust in the center aisle of the horse barn and, hopefully, a new coat of paint to finish up," said Pen Pals 4-H leader and barn co-supervisor Lisa Morrow. In this photo, Kirsten Miller tends to her pair of pigs.
