WSU Extension Working Forests for Landowners Workshop

March 15, 2018

DAYTON – The WSU Extension Working for Landowners Workshop is on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Columbia County Fairgrounds Youth Building in Dayton.

Natural resources professionals will share information with landowners on how to set and achieve goals, protect the health and beauty of their forests, and how to protect their financial investments and reduce risk.

Forests can provide a lifestyle and living, but that almost always requires active management and actions such as; timber harvesting, tree planting and thinning, grazing, and weed control. Other activities for improving wildlife habitat are; controlling erosion, fire suppression and fuel treatment, and road and trail maintenance.

Earlybird registration is $10 per person, or $20 per family, by March 20. The cost is $20 per person or $30 per family, after March 20. Lunch is available for an additional $10, per person. Proceeds benefit the local FFA, and must be purchased by March 20.

Brochure/registration is available online at: http://www.forestry.wsu.edu or at: the Dayton WSU Extension office at 137 E Main St.

For more information contact Extension Agent Paul Carter at: 382-4741.
