WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg Lions Club recently accepted a $600 donation, from Wade Lacolucci, in the memory of late Waitsburg farmer and former Lion Bob Danforth. For the last 13 years, Lacolucci and Bob's son, David Danforth, have coordinated a golf trip and charity tournament in Coeur d'alene. Last year, Lacolucci won the tournament and said he wanted to donate his winnings to the charity of Bob's choice.

"Brother Rob is also part of the tournament and our dad, Bob, played some of his last rounds of golf in this tournament before he passed. Wade won the tournament last year and wanted to donate the $600 prize to a charity of dad's choice. It didn't take Rob and I long to agree that the Waitsburg Lions Club was the perfect choice. Dad loved being a Lion with all of you including service work as well as the social comradery. Please accept this check and donation on behalf of Wade and the rest of us," said David in a letter to the Lions Club.
