WP Sweeps Bulldogs in Double Header

 

Dayton's Logan Hays slides under the tag of WP's Chance Leroue, while teammate Ian Smay moves to second base.

PRESCOTT - The WP Tigers prevailed in two evenly matched games played here Saturday between Touchet Valley rivals WP and Dayton.

In the first game, the Bulldogs' star pitcher, Lowden Smith, held WP scoreless through the first five innings. However, in the sixth, Smith gave up four runs, including a three-run triple by Tiger freshman Jacob Dunn. Dayton managed only one run, scoring in the fourth.

In the second game, the Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning, before giving up four runs. They came right back in the top of the seventh to tie it, sending the game into extra innings. Each team scored a run in the eight.

Then, in the bottom of the ninth, with two out and Tiger Devin Acevedo on second, Nick Pearson drove a single, scoring Acevedo easily to end the game.

For the two games, WP had a total of 18 hits, while
