YAKIMA – The Dayton-Waitsburg softball team grabbed the third seed from District 5/6 in the state tournament this weekend, after going 2-1 at the regional tournament here last weekend. They are scheduled to begin the tournament Friday at 9 a.m. against Adna.

In the first regional playoff game Saturday, DW overpowered Liberty Bell, 9-1. The team built a 3-1 lead after four innings, before bringing in four more in the fifth and two in the seventh.
