With the public showing an increased interest in area growth, The Times is working with the Columbia County planning office to publish a list of building permits granted in Dayton, Columbia County, and Waitsburg each month. Below are the permits issued in October.

Columbia County

Oct. 30, Tucannon Ag Partnership, Highway 261, Starbuck; construct a 400 square foot covered deck.

Oct. 25, Anne Strode/Terry Steinhoff, 800 Eckler Mountain Road, Dayton; decommission of underground oil tank, to be filled entirely of concrete.

Oct. 18, Columbia Basin Baptist Assn, 1124 N. Touchet Rd, Dayton; construct a deck for use as a stage and permanent seating.

Oct. 16, Dan Bickelhaupt/Seth Murdock, 36039 Highway 12, Dayton; construction of new 70’ x 58’ aircraft hangar.

Oct. 12, Shane & Kristin Loper, 1045 Whetstone Rd., Dayton; construction of new three-bedroom home of 2,565 sq. ft. Permit issued or well-drilling purposes only. Official building plans must be submitted prior to inspections.

Oct. 6, Tom Archer, 347 Shea Rd., Dayton; addition of 1,800 sq. ft. to existing residence with engineered trusses and standard 2”x6” wood frame construction. All inspections subject to onsite correction.

Oct. 6, WGSKI, LLC, 2000 N. Touchet Rd., Dayton; enclose an area between the upper deck and lower concrete patio to create additional equipment rental area.

Oct. 4, Catherine & Jerry Webster, 352 Bundy Hollow Rd., Dayton; Complete re-roof of entire house; removal of existing materials and replacement with new shingles.

Oct. 3, Dave Mitcham, 119 Homestead Rd., Dayton; Construct a 1440 sq. ft. cabin.

Oct. 24, Donald Sykes, 800 N. Willow; Construct a new single-family residence.

Oct. 23, Vivian McCauley, 214 N. 2nd; re-roof residence.

Oct. 20, Ashley Kilts, 312 S. Willow; 684 sq. ft. addition

Oct. 17, Jesse Mings; 1414 S. 2nd St.;alteration of existing lean-to; raise roof using 4”x6” wrapped with 2”x6” to 12” in the front and 9” in the back.

Oct. 13, David & Jennifer Finney, 224 E. Dayton Ave.; remodel existing unfinished basement; remodel to include: popup of partition walls to create two bedrooms and one bathroom, new plumbing and electrical work, cut-out of egress windows for basement rooms.

Oct. 12, James Nichols, 1323 S. 4th; 1512 sq. ft. garage/shop with apartment/studio above.

Oct. 10, Larry Smith, 504 N. 1st St.; installation of new Pleasant Hearth pellet stove 50,000 BTU; replacement of existing pellet stove.

Oct. 10, William & Sherry Freeman, 615 S. 4th; installation of mini-split heat pump with three heads.

Oct. 9, Daniel Scully, 313 North Front St.; residential re-roof

Oct. 6, Bill Freeman, 615 S. 4th St.; replacement of existing door and windows with new door and windows.

Oct. 5, J.J. Dippel, 218 S. 4th St.; residential re-roof

Oct. 4, Heinrich Gary L., 511 E. Richmond Ave., repairing of existing exterior deck.

Waitsburg, Wash.

Oct. 17, Lynn McCambridge, 714 W. 2nd St.; install heating stove.

Oct. 17, Luella Thompson, 702 Orchard; re-roof.

Oct. 5, Kimberly Trent, 919 Coppei Ave.; residential re-roof partial on house and garage.
