Valley-Football momentum stalls after taking early 6-0 lead in Waitsburg

WAITSBURG – The Dayton-Waitsburg football team lost its fifth game of the season here Friday night, falling to Lyle-Wishram, 46-6.

DW started out strong, stopping L-W on its first drive and returning a blocked punt to the L-W 11-yard line. Running back Chris Philbrook punched the ball in from the two to give DW an early 6-0 lead.

L-W got their first score late in the first quarter, to tie the game at six. The flood gates opened in the second quarter, as L-W scored 34 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
