Artisan desserts, live music, a free gift, and hot, felted wool – the combination is intriguing enough that it’s worth setting aside the afternoon to check out.

Wenaha Gallery in Dayton, Wash., celebrates art and artists Sat., Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the town’s annual Art Walk, part of Dayton’s On Tour and Fall Festival. Five artists will be on site, including Walla Walla felt artist Linnea Keatts, who will demonstrate how to turn wool and silk fibers into wearable and usable art.

Keatts is joined by four other regional artists, including Roy Anderson of Walla Walla, who will be performing musically throughout the afternoon; Lauralee Northcott, a country singer and weaver of pine needle baskets from Winthrop, WA; Jill Ingram, watercolor painter from Dayton; and Maja Shaw, a Richland watercolor artists whose exuberantly colored landscapes and floral works are showcased at the gallery through October 21.

The first 50 visitors to the gallery on Art Walk day receive a free 5 x 7 fine art note card by Steve Henderson, a Dayton painter whose licensed work is available through Jet, Wayfair, Pottery Barn, iCanvas, Walmart.com and other locations. Completing the sense of celebration are free artisan cookies and treats by Savonnah Henderson, the gallery framer who is also a chef.
