CHENEY – Waitsburg senior Emily Adams dominated the long-distance events at the state 1B tournament here on Friday and Saturday. Adams won state titles in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter races, and took third in the triple jump.

On Friday Adams won the 1,600 easily, setting a new personal record of 5:20.32. On Saturday, Adams took an early lead in the 3,200 and kept putting distance on the rest of the field, beating her nearest competitor by a full minute.
