New activities for adults at the dayton library

DAYTON—There are two new activities, and one ongoing activity, at the Dayton Memorial Library, specifically for adults, according to Dayton Memorial Library assistant Lorna Barth.

“Coffee, Cookies, and Coloring” is a new activity at the library that takes place on Fridays between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. This activity provides an opportunity for adults to de-stress from their busy week, with colored pencils, pens, and printed pages, Barth said.

Barth also said that a new writing group is forming, and will meet in the Delany Building on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings. Anyone can attend, she said.

The group hopes to feature speakers, host writing workshops, and participate in a national novel writing program, through NaNoWriMo, as well as providing the space for aspiring writers to write, Barth said.

The next writers’ group meeting will be on Saturday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m.

Bring a beverage of your choice, and an appetizer to share, when you come to Book Chat, the Not a Book Club, Book Club, on Saturday, June 25, from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Delany Building. Book Chat is a forum for book lovers to talk about all things literary, to play literary-minded games, and to enjoy each other’s company.

To find out more about Book Chat; Coffee, Cookies and Coloring; or the new writers’ group, contact the Dayton Memorial Library at: 382-4131, or Lorna Barth at: lorna@daytonmemoriallibrary.org.
