The Times - Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

The Waitsburg High School gymnasium has been hopping on Saturday mornings as nearly 40 elementary students have turned out for basic skills basketball practices. Helpers include Jeff Bartlow, Gabe Keifel, Jason Kaehler, Sara Dimak, Clint Reser, Stephanie Hinchliffe, Jesse Mings, and high school players from both the boys' ang girls' teams. The students have been able to use the new, adjustable backboards, which lower to eight feet. "This has been a lot of fun and is so important. I feel good about the turnout," said Coach Bartlow. There will be two more Saturday sessions; January 23 and January 30 from 8:30-10 a.m. All students in grades two through five are welcome to attend.
