Owen Lanning Earns Top Scores for L-C Warriors

Owen Lanning cleared 10'10" in the pole vault event at the Candy Cane Invitational at EWU earlier this month.

CHENEY – Lewis-Clark State College freshman Owen Lanning, son of Mark and Joanna Lanning, of Waitsburg, made top scores in the men's track and field indoor heptathlon – a seven-event competition – at the Eastern Washington University Candy Cane Invitational in Cheney on Dec. 5.

Lanning's score of 4,037 points automatically qualified him for the national competition and is the third best mark in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to date. Nationals will be held in Tennessee in March.
