DAYTON – It was dogs against cats last week as the Lady Bulldogs took a win from the Prescott Tigers on the Bulldog court on Thurs., Oct. 8. The Lady Dogs won the southeast 2B league match in three sets: 25-10, 25-9, 25-10.

Dayton continued to show strong at the serving line with perfect service from Josilyn Fullerton (14/14), Jenna Phillips (10/10), Mia Becker (13/13), and Megan Robins (7/7). Heidi Dobbs, who hasn't seen much time on the serving line this season, dished out an impressive 24/25 serves. Hanna Becker served 7/8.

Fullerton, Phillips, Mia Becker and Hanna Becker dished out two aces each, with Dobbs making eight. Fullerton had nine kills, ten assists and three digs, and Phillips made six kills, four blocks and two digs. Hanna Becker made twelve assists.

The Prescott effort was led by middle Ruby Rosales and sophomore setter Jocelyn Granados, reported Tiger Coach Bob Young.

"Dayton played pretty error-free tonight. They kept us off balance. We never found any rhythm to our game. Our hope is to regroup and get ready for DeSales at home next Tuesday," said Young.

The match left Dayton standing 5-2 in league play and 7-3 overall, and the first-year Prescott Tigers at 0-7 in league play and 1-7 overall.
