BMS and Kiwanis Host Oktoberfest

DAYTON – The Blue Mountain Station Co-op has partnered with Kiwanis of Dayton to organize an outdoor Oktoberfest celebration at the Blue Mountain Station (700 Artisan Way) on Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

"The forecast calls for temperatures in the low 70's, zero percent chance of rain and 100% chance of a good time," said BMS Co-op Vice President Brad McMasters.

The Dayton Kiwanis members will grill and sell Tucannon Meats bratwursts for $5 each. German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage Slaw, and apple strudel (made from Warren Orchard apples), prepared by co-op board members, will round out the meal.

Grassroot Gourmet Catering will be on hand with soft, warm pretzels. Visitors who are over 21 will enjoy the beer garden featuring craft brews by Chief Spring's Fire & Irons Brew Pub and everyone will enjoy live music by Don Putnam.

Mary's Candies, Rey's Roast, and Aardvark Granola, the co-op's on-site food processing tenants, will be open for retail and the Artisan Market will be open with more local foods and crafts including: wool stocking caps, custom furniture, upcycled homeware, and more.

Bring friends and a lawn chair, buy an organic hot chocolate, and enjoy an afternoon relaxing around the fire pit at Blue Mountain Station.
