Bulldogs Advance With Win over WP

Megan Robins gets 15-0 one-hit win in play-in game

DAYTON – The Dayton High softball team advanced to the Southeast 2B district tournament with a big win here over the WP Lady Tigers on May 12. The Tigers' loss ended their season.

Dayton pitcher Megan Robins gave up only one WP hit, while striking out 10. The Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first three innings and then eight in the fourth. The game ended on the mercy rule after the top of the fifth.

For Dayton, senior Sarah Phillips had four hits and two RBIs. She also had four stolen bases. Samii Bledsoe and Kellie Moore each added three hits.

WP gave up a total of 19 Dayton hits. Their lone hit, by Jade Alleman came in the top of the fifth.

With the win, Dayton moved on to play Asotin in the first game of the district tournament on May 16 (see separate article).
