WAITSBURG - Waitsburg High School senior Owen Lanning was named one of twelve Athletes of the week earlier this month by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association for his performance in track and field.

At the 80th annual Carnival of Speed in Milton-Freewater on April 3, Lanning won the 300 hurdles (44.21), place second in the 110 hurdles (16.67), was second in the triple jump (40-9) and fourth in the long jump (18-11) His 31 point total was the top male score at the 26-team meet.
