Karen  Lynn Mohney, age 53, died March 15, 2015 at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

She was flown there from Heppner, Ore. on Saturday where she suffered an apparent stroke.    She and her family were hosting a St. Patrick's Day dog trial in Heppner. While having dinner that evening she became stricken with a headache.

Memorial services were Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Waitsburg with Pastor Bret Moser officiating. Those who wish may contribute to Rainbow Girls or charity of the donor's choice.

Karen was born September 5, 1961 in Walla Walla. Her parents are Pete and Meredith Hulce Huwe.

She attended Waitsburg Schools, graduating from High School with the class of 1980. She attended WSU and airline attendant school and worked for Horizon Airlines for 15 years. She married Kelly Mohney on April 26, 1986 in a ceremony held in Waitsburg.  After her father's death she came back to Waitsburg to help her mother in the EZ Aerial Marker business.   In 2010  she purchased Blue Crystal screen printing. She always had something else going, like auctioneering, catering, raising trial dogs  and organizing events. She was current President of the "Ole Towne Hall," Mother Advisor of Rainbow, past 4-H leader, board member of the Days or Real Sport and Waitsburg Celebration Days and a member of the American Legion Auxillary. She was past Commerical Club Citizen of the Year and recipient of Community Service Award in 2010. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Kelly, her border collies; Grit, Indy, and Poppy at the home.   Her mother Meredith Huwe of Waitsburg. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Huwe.
