DAYTON – Columbia County Commissioners last week appointed Kim Lyonnais, the county planning director, as fire marshal and building official. Jeromy Phinney, who previously held that title, resigned from the planning office earlier this month to become a full-time assistant fire chief with Columbia County Fire District 3.

Lyonnais, who has been operating his department solo for a few weeks, has hired a planner, Greg Abramson, and a building inspector, local contractor Jake Davis.
