PRESCOTT - WP sophomore soccer player Ivan Figueroa was nominated by a community member and selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association as one of its Athletes of the Week.

Figueroa blasted goals in two playoff games last month, as his team took second place at the state tournament in Sumner.

In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director, Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website at www.wiaa.com.
