WALLA WALLA - DeSales dropped the Lady Cards volleyball team in a three-set game on Oct. 30. The loss, 17-25, 11-25, 11-25, marks the end of the season for WP and gave the Irish a spot in the District 7/9 Regionals.

Coach Angie Potts said the girls played competitively in the first set, but got frustrated in sets two and three and failed to maintain intensity. "Overall, there was a lot of improvement throughout the season," she said. Stat leaders were Athziry Amezcua with 6 kills, 4 digs, Jaidyn Brown with 8 assists, Paige Wood with 5 kills and 2 aces.

WP will graduate six seniors this year: Mikala DeRuwe, Nikki Fisher, Samantha Fedderson, Kassidy Kuykendall, Paige Wood and Samantha Walker. "We lose quite a few seniors but have some younger players who will be expected to step up next year and fill their shoes," said Potts.
