Gwen Sylvia Hooper was born Dec 21, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Franklin John Terrill and Isabel Williams Terrill. She married Ivan Roy Hooper Oct. 1952. They later divorced. They raised 7 children all of whom graduated from Dayton High School.

Gwen worked seasonally at the Green Giant Company and at the Dayton Drive Inn movie theatre. She also worked as a cook at Robinson Nursing Home and later as a housekeeper at Booker Annex. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed tole painting, crocheting dish cloths that she always gave away and embroidering.

Gwen loved to dress up as a clown in full makeup and entertaining at birthday parties with a harmonica and tambourine. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren taking them for ice cream and having sleepovers at her house and attending all of their activities. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary and loved being a greeter and working in the gift shop.

She is survived by her children Terri Hessler (Walt), Richard Hooper ( Jennifer), Diane Lusk (Brian), Robert Hooper (Susan), Michele Cochran (Daniel), 9-Grand Children, 2-Great Grand Children. She is also survived by her Brother Edward Terrill.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, daughter Kerri Lynn Fuller, her parents and stepfather Grant Jensen, and special friend Paul Johnson.

She was an exceptional Mother, raising 5 of 7 children on her own. She was a fun grandmother and great friend to everyone she met. Gwen will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dayton Hospital Auxiliary.
