WAITSBURG - The Lady 'Dawgs walked away with a three-set win on the Waitsburg's court on Oct. 23, but the Lady Cards didn't go down easy. WP was slow to warm up and allowed the Bulldogs to win 25-16, 25-18 and 25-23.

"We got off to a slow start but then the girls started playing with heart and really showed that they wanted to win. During the last two sets we played our best defensive match of the season," said WP coach Angie Potts. "The girls were digging well-hit balls and played very scrappy."

"Dayton won in three sets but had to battle in the third for the win! It's good having close competitive games late in the season as we prepare for Regionals," said Bulldog coach Shannon Turner. "Waitsburg played very scrappy and sent a lot back over. I'm pleased with my team for being more aggressive on the net, both blocking and attacking the ball."

Stat leaders for the Bulldogs were Madison Mings with 5 kills, 14 digs, 2 blocks and a perfect 12-12 serving; Sarah Phillips with 1 kill, 5 digs, 15 passes and 10-10 on the serving line and Josilyn Fullerton with 10 kills, 8 assists, 6 digs, 1 block and 14-14 service. Bryeana Myrick had 7 kills, 6 blocks and 2 digs and Lexi Ramirez had 4 kills, 9 assists, 18 digs and 13-14 service.

On the WP side, stat leaders included Jaidyn Brown with 13 assists, 5 kills, 2 aces, Paige Wood with 9 kills, 4 digs, 3 aces, and Samantha Fedderson with 4 kills, 2 blocks, 6 digs.
