WAITSBURG - The Lady Cards fought hard, but ultimately fell to the WWVA Knights in three sets in home court play on Oct. 16. The game earned WWVA a perfect 6-0 in Southeast 2B play and left WP standing 1-5 in league play and 5-9, overall.

The Cardinals kept the score tight the first two matches, dropping the sets 21-25 each, but weakened in the third set, losing 6-25. "We came out and started really strong," said Coach Angie Potts. "We had some unforced errors and too many missed serves. That gave WWVA the opportunity to finish out each set. I am proud of the way the girls fought hard and made adjustments on defense in order to be in the right position to dig the hits."

Stat leaders were Samantha Fedderson with 7 kills, 6 blocks, 5 digs, Jaidyn Brown with 11 assists and Paige Wood with 6 digs. "We'll continue to make some adjustments as we get ready to play Tri-Cities Prep and Dayton next week. Each of those teams have some strong hitters and in order to be successful against them we'll need to make a few changes," said Potts.
