DAYTON - The Lady 'Dawgs took down the Lady Cards in three sets in a home court league match on Oct. 7. Outstanding serves and a strong offense won the sets 25-15, 25-13 and 25- 19 for the Bulldogs and improved their standings to 3-0 in league play and 9-3, overall.

Dayton's Mia Becker served a solid 21/21. Following close behind with near-perfect serves were Lexi Ramirez 10/11, Sarah Phillips 6/7, Madison Mings 10/11, Jenna Phillips 5/6 and Josilyn Fullerton 15/16. Josilyn Fullerton and Bryeana Myrick dished out 10 kills each. On defense, Sarah Phillips made 14 assists and 10 digs, Mings and Becker made 10 digs and Jenna Phillips made 13 digs.

"We did alot of things right! We improved our passing this match so we were able to set across the net and really mix things up. Waitsburg played very scrappy, picked up a lot and gave us a good run," said Bulldogs Coach Shannon Turner.

The Lady Cardinals improved some of their previous stats, said Coach Angie Potts. Jaidyn Brown made 7 assists, 5 kills and 4 aces; Paige Wood made 3 kills; Kassidy Kuykendall made 5 assists; and Samantha Fedderson made 8 kills, 4 blocks and 5 digs.

"I thought we started better than we had in previous matches and played really well for the first half of each set," Potts said. "We still have work to do on our positions on defense, but we're getting there. We're doing a better job of communicating on the court. Now we need to work on maintaining our focus and intensity for the whole match."
