Missoula Children’s Theater Brings Rapunzel

DAYTON - The Missoula Children's Theater will arrive at the Liberty Theater early next month to begin preparations for its annual performance featuring local kids. This year the group will present Rapunzel.

They will arrive with sets, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play, everything that is except the cast. For that they are turning to the young people of Dayton, Waitsburg and the surrounding communities.

Auditions will be held at the Liberty on Monday, August 11. Young people entering first grade through those entering their senior year of high school who wish to audition must pre-register at the Liberty on Tuesday, August 5 or Friday, August 8 between 2 pm and 5 pm. While pre-registering, they can also sign up for three afternoon enrichment workshops presented by the Tour Actor/Directors that are open to any young person, regardless of whether or not they are cast for the play. There is no cost to participate in either the play or the afternoon workshops.

Rapunzel will be presented to the public at 7pm on Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 at The Liberty.

The Missoula Children's Theatre is the nation's largest touring children's theatre. The group has been touring extensively for 42 years, from Montana to Japan.

This year's production is sponsored by the Touchet Valley Arts Council. For more information contact the Liberty Theater at 509-382-1380 or via email at info@libertytheater.org.
