WAITSBURG - On Tuesday, February 20, National FFA week kicked off with students wearing their favorite pajamas to school and voting for the Harvest Ball Court. Freshmen Kayla Mikesell and Landen Henry, sophomores Kaya Mings and Brenton Segraves, juniors Alyssa Hollingsworth and William Daves, and seniors Makenna Barron and Quinn Benavides will represent the FFA at the dance on Friday, February 23.

On Wise Owl Wednesday, students are challenged to find creative ways to recognize their advisors-Waitsburg students dressed as their much-appreciated FFA advisor, Nicole Abel.

The WSU FFA AG Mechanics contest took place on Wednesday. It was the year's first contest, and Benavides placed 12th overall. The team will compete at WWCC on February 28.

On Thursday, the Waitsburg FFA students represented their chapter wearing this year's hot pink t-shirts and flamingo bucket hats.

The AG Olympics were held Thursday morning and determined who would be crowned King and Queen at the Harvest Ball. Participants had to throw two bags in the cornhole board or place four on top before they raced to jump a fence, crawl through a fence, crawl under a fence, climb over a fence, and then pound a fence post into the ground. After planting the post, they climbed back over the fence and raced back to the start. The winners this year were Benavides and Hollingsworth.

Fancy Friday saw numerous students dressed in their FFA official dress or "Sunday Best." The FFA week ended with the Harvest Dance, which had the theme of "Wild, Wild West."
