Arraignments:

-Juan C. Casteneda, 19, Pasco. Charged with one count of first degree burglary – armed with a deadly weapon, four counts of first degree assault and four counts of unlawful imprisonment – armed with a deadly weapon. Charges stem from an incident on Sept. 20 when Casteneda and two other men are accused of entering a trailer, threatening people in the trailer, and shooting a man in the thigh. Witnesses reportedly identified Casteneda through social media. Casteneda and Blake Charles Wallace were arrested, with the help of Pasco detectives and the Tri-City Regional SWAT team, in Pasco the following day. Casteneda entered a plea of not guilty and trial setting was set for Oct. 18. He is being held on a $500,000 surety bond or cash.

-Blake Charles Wallace, 17, Richland. Charged with one count of first degree burlary – armed with a deadly weapon, four counts of first degree assault and four counts of unlawful imprisonment – armed with a deadly weapon. Charges are from the same case as Castenada, above. Wallace is being held on $300,000 bond and trial setting is scheduled for Oct. 18. He did not enter a plea.


Trials Set:

- Marshall Hernandez, 56, Dayton; Charged with burglary and assault in the 2nd degree, strangulation in Nov of 2016 and charged with 1st degree arson and 1st degree reckless burning in Jan. 2015. Continued to Oct. 18 for resolution of jury trial on Oct. 26-27.

- Derrick McCuaig, 32, Dayton; charged with theft of a firearm. Trial Set for Oct. 26-27.

-Magdiel Hernandez DeLaCruze, 36, Dayton; Charged with residential burglary. Trial set for Nov. 20-21.


- Travis Rogelio Garcia, 30, Dayton; charged with unlawful imprisonmet – dv, coercion – dv, 4th degree assault – dv, possession of methamphetamine and three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. Trial set for Nov. 20-21.

Other:

-Charles W. Hartwell, 41, Dayton. Charged with three charges of second degree assault with a deadly weapon. Case continued to Oct. 18 while he undergoes evaluation.

-Steven Ray Long, 30, Dayton. Charged with second degree burglary, third degree theft, and third degree malicious mischief – personal property for an April incident and with 17 counts including theft, drug charges, malicious mischief and burglary stemming from incidents that took place in Feb. and May, 2013. Cases are continued to Oct. 18 for resolution or trial re-set. Trial was previously scheduled for Oct. 23.


-Benjamin Orozco, 43, Mexico. Charged with second degree murder and first degree assault. Continued to Dec. 6 to set a new trial date. Trial was previously scheduled for Oct. 23.

-Hector Vela, Jr., 55, charged with distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18, delivery/manufacture with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of over one ounce of usable marijuana. Continued to Oct. 18 to reset trial.

-Darrel Jean Salgado, 22, Dayton. Charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia not used for marijuana and with intent to deliver methamphetamine, third degree assault, resisting arrest, use of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of possession of legend (prescription) drugs in a second incident. Continued to Oct. 18 for resolution or trial re-set.

- Deloris Lorraine Elder, 53, Dayton; charged with forgery and theft in the third degree. Waived jury trial. Continued to Oct. 18 for trial setting.

- Thomas Bray, 32, Dayton; charged with failure to register as a sex offender. Bench warrant issued.

- Lonnie Lee Montoya, 35, Dixie. Charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Continued to Oct. 18 for resolution.
