Callas, Adams Shine at Papa Wells Meet

Waitsburg senior Landon Callas competed in the 300-meter hurdles during a meet in Dayton last year.

YAKIMA – Seniors Landon Callas and Emily Adams put in strong performances at Waitsburg's first meet of the season at East Valley High School here Saturday.

Callas won the 300-meter hurdles and placed second in the 110 hurdles. Adams placed second in the triple jump, third in the 800 Meters, fourth in the 3200 and 11th in the long jump.

The Cardinal track team started their season competing against teams from all over the region at the Papa Wells track meet. The meet consisted of 27 teams from all division sizes, from 1B to the 4A division. Waitsburg was one of four 1B teams competing.
