December News From the Library

DAYTON—There are some new as well as some ongoing activities at the Dayton Memorial Library during the month of December, according to library assistant Vicki Zoller.

Binge Boxes, each stuffed with Christmas themed movies and other movie enjoyment essentials, such as popcorn and candy, are available for check-out, Zoller said.

“They are flying off the shelf,” she said.

All the boxes have family-friendly movies in them, and patrons may check out one box per household for one week, Zoller said.

Ongoing activities include Book Chat, the Not a Book Club Book Club, where all things literary take place, including games and discussions.

Book Chat will be Saturday, Dec. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.

“There is always homemade pie and lots of other yummy stuff,” Zoller said.

The Dayton writers group will meet Dec. 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Reading with “Tex” the library dog continues on Fridays, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Coffee, Cookies and Coloring also takes place on Fridays, from 3 to 5 p.m.

And speaking of coffee, the Friends of the Dayton Memorial Library is hosting a fundraiser in conjunction with Rey’s Roast Coffee. Proceeds from $10 purchases of Rey’s Roast Coffee 50/50 blend in eight-ounce bags will benefit the Friends of the Library, Zoller said.
