D-W Falls to Pioneers in First-Ever Combine Game

MILTON-FREEWATER – Dayton-Waitsburg went on the road in the first game for its new combined football program, but fell to a Mac-Hi team that hadn't won a game in more than a year.

Four turnovers and 16 penalties marred an otherwise strong performance, in which many players are learning a new system. D-W was also missing some veteran players who will likely return later this year, including running back Travis Crockett and receiver Ben Kleck.

D-W jumped out to an early lead with a first-quarter touchdown on a 22-yard scoring pass from quarterback Jacob Dunn to receiver Tanner Bren. It came...
