Sandly Kleck discussed wine pairings at a Winemaker's Dinner at The Q last year.

WAITSBURG – The Q Wood-Fired Grill will be hosting a monthly Supper Club with the theme, "Around the World on Fire," featuring world cuisines that are cooked over an open flame. The first Supper Club event will be Nov. 21, featuring Argentine cuisine.

The Q co-owner Sandy Kleck said the Supper Club meals will be more informal than the Winemaker Dinners currently hosted by The Q.

"Each month we'll feature a meal from a country that cooks over an open flame such as Spain, Portugal, Korea, and Brazil. The Supper Clubs are more relaxed and casual – it's more about sharing a table with friends," Sandy said.

Sandy's husband and restaurant co-owner, Emry Kleck, will prepare authentic international cuisine on the outdoor grill he built behind the restaurant. Sandy will use her extensive background and training in the wine industry to pair each course with an appropriate wine. Supper Club meals are expected to run from $35 - $50.

The first event, On Nov. 21, will feature a four-course Argentine meal. Ashley Trout of Flying Trout Wines will supply the wine and share about her wine-making adventures in Argentina, as well as all things Argentine.

The casual dinner is reservation-only and guests are asked to bring a donation for the food baskets of Dayton and Waitsburg. The menu is still in progress and the first glass of wine is included in the dinner price.

In addition to the Supper Club, The Q will continue to host the more formal Winemaker Dinners each month. Those dinners feature five courses, each paired with a complimentary wine.

The Q restaurant space on Waitsburg's Main Street may also be reserved for meetings and private parties catered by The Q. Sandy said the menu can range from pastries and coffee, to simple lunches, to elaborate dinners.

The Q is also caters all types of events offsite, both large and small.

"We're happy to cater a meal just for a family. We can cater at the restaurant, at your home or another venue, or we can prepare the food ahead and just drop it off," Sandy said.

To make Supper Club reservations, reserve The Q for a meeting or private party, or to arrange for catering, call Sandy Kleck at (509) 520-4058.
