Bulldogs Show Some 'O' Versus L-C

Dayton loses 68-28 at home, but Sunderlin-Herrin has a big game

DAYTON – Dayton’s third quarterback of the year, Kobie Sunderlin-Herrin, continued to improve on Friday as he rushed for 91 yards including a touchdown and a two-point conversion, in a 68-28 loss to Liberty Christian.

Sunderlin-Herrin was also four-for-nine passing, for 49 yards, including a TD and two-point conversion reception.

But the resurgent offense wasn’t enough, as it came after L-C built a 36-0 lead in the first quarter. In the end, the Bulldogs lost the scoring battle, ten touchdowns to four, as the defense couldn’t keep up with L-C’s high powered offense.

For the game, besides Sunderlin-Herrin’s 91 yards on 15 carries, Trystan Willis also had 15 carries, rushing the ball for 66 yards. Hayden Wooldridge carried the ball once for a big 21-yard gain.

Sunderlin-Herrin had one reception, from Willis, for 30 yards. Willis had a 34-yard reception, and Wooldridge had two catches for 19 yards and one TD.

This week, the Bulldogs travel north to take on Garfield-Palouse Friday night at 7 p.m.
