Ronald Eugene Hoffman

March 22, 1941 – May 25, 2015

 


Longtime Dayton resident Ronald Eugene Hoffman passed away May 25th, 2015, surrounded by his family at Booker Rest Home. Ron was born to Everett and Myrtle Hoffman on March 22nd, 1941, in La Verne, Calif. His family moved to Missouri and then on to Dayton, where Ron graduated in 1960 from Dayton High School. Ron married his high school sweetheart Nancy (Iles) on August 2, 1963, recently married 51 years.

He worked at the Dayton Chronicle, Green Giant and was the proprietor of the Hoffman Bakery, well known for his yummy Apple Fritters and other baked goods.

He was a member of The Blue Mountain Snowmobile Club and the F.O.E. Eagles (Dayton). He enjoyed spending time in the Blue Mountains snowmobiling, mushrooming, huckleberry picking, hunting, and was an avid gardener. He loved spending time with his six grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy, at home in Dayton; his two daughters, Cindy (Rob) McCuistion and their children, Spencer, Ben and Nic of Shoreline, Wash; Barbie (Jeff) Lembcke and their children, Jacob, Megan and Joshua of Othello, Wash; Sisters-in-law Carolyn Hoffman and Joanne (Reese) Sheely; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jerry, Wayne, Randy and nieces Tana and Kim.

A graveside service at Dayton Cemetery will be held on Thursday, June 4th, at 11:00. A luncheon following the service will be at the Dayton Eagles on Main Street.
