Dec. 23

Deputies recovered property from an unreported theft. A handbag was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the alley south of E. Main Street overnight; the handbag was located in a garbage in the same block. The owner was unaware that the handbag was missing; nothing was missing from the bag.

Dec. 24

Unwanted subjects reported on E. Washington Avenue; contacted by deputies. Non-injury collision with deer on Highway 12 near milepost 362. Possible theft of $60 cash reported on E. Washington Avenue.

Dec. 25

Traffic collision on Highway 12 near milepost 377 led to possible injuries; subjects were dropped off at the sheriff’s office by a passerby and an ambulance was dispatched for possible injures due to airbag deployment. Verbal argument reported at intersection of S. 4th and E. Main streets.


Dec. 26

Fraud reported on E. Dayton Ave; reporting party has been receiving calls stating that $1500 in green dot cards at Walgreens would need to be purchased to keep the power on in the residence. Two people reportedly stranded on Hatley Gulch Road; deputies unable to locate.

Dec. 27

Suspicious vehicle reported on Hatley Gulch Road; related to call from Dec. 26. Non-injury collision on N. Touchet Road; vehicle slid off roadway. Gas theft at Texaco on W. Main Street. Threatening text messages reported on E. Main Street.

Dec. 28

Firearms offense reported on S. Touchet Road; driver of a black Caravan shot a shotgun into the brush, put the gun back in the vehicle, then left the scene. Deputies contacted the driver and have forwarded a possible hunting violation report to the prosecutor’s office. Possible spotlighting reported on S. Touchet Road near Pettyjohn Grade Road; deputies and wildlife officer were unable to locate the subjects.


Dec. 29

Trespassing reported at Valley View Courts; trespass warning issued to individual. Report of burglary on N. 4th Street; sometime during the night a chainsaw was taken from a garage. Suspicious vehicle reported spotlighting on Patit Road; handled by wildlife officer.

Dec. 30

Theft of a Christmas decoration from the front porch of a residence reported on W. Clay Street. Suspicious person in a residential shop reported on Crall Hollow Road; deputies contacted the person who had permission, it turned out, to use the shop. Suspicious vehicle parked and running on the shoulder of E. Main Street; driver was pulled over to rest for a bit.


Dec. 31

Parking complaint at the Touchet Corral Sno-Park on N. Touchet Road; three warnings issued to vehicles parked without required permit. Theft of Christmas decorations reported on W. Commercial Street. Warning issued to campers on Tucannon Road not displaying their Discovery Pass.

Jan. 1

Levi T. Frost, 26, of Clarkston, was cited and released on suspicion of driving while suspended in the third degree and speeding on N. Touchet Road. Domestic disturbance reported at Country Village Courts; 18-year-old Michael J. Testerman, of Dayton, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault for domestic violence. Non-injury collision occurred when vehicle struck deer on N. Touchet Road.


Jan. 2

Caller reported a suspicious female on N. Willow Street who said she wanted to check the caller’s filtration system.

Jan. 3

Esmeralda L. Rojas-Barcott, 24, of Waitsburg, was cited and released on suspicion of driving while suspended in the third degree, no proof of auto insurance, and speed. Verbal altercation reported on W. Cameron Street; deputies contacted female and male arguing at a residence and assisted with resolving the situation.

Jan. 4

Deputies requested city road crew sand intersections in town due to icy conditions. Non-injury collision reported on N. Touchet Road; female driver Maria Lakkham, 41, of Pasco, collided with a fence and an old wooden wagon and was cited for speed too fast for conditions. Deputies assisted Fire District 3 with a vehicle fire on S. Touchet Road. Theft reported on S. 4th Street; a scooter was taken from a shed.

Jan. 5

Suspicious vehicle reported on S. 3rd Street with door open and female in driver’s seat not moving; when deputies responded the vehicle was unoccupied.
