Lady 'Dogs fall to Colfax

Defending champs' "D" stifles Dayton for much of game

DAYTON – On Dec. 23, the Dayton girls' basketball team hosted defending state champion Colfax, and suffered a 39-28 loss. It was the second straight loss for the previously undefeated Lady 'Dogs. They are now 6-2.

Dayton tool a 13-12 lead into the first quarter break, but their offense began to sputter. They scored only seven points over the next two quarters, and trailed Colfax 36-19 after three.

The Lady 'Dogs suffered cold shooting for most of the game, going 8 for 30 from the field, including a Madison Mings three-pointer.
