WAITSBURG

Nov. 25

Possible theft of video game discs reported on Maple Street. Assisted Washington State Patrol with two-vehicle collision on Coppei and Preston Ave. One of the drivers was arrested for DUI; no injuries reported.

DAYTON

Nov. 25

Theft of power tools from motel on S. Pine Street - occurred two weeks prior. Non-injury accident at intersection of Hartsock Grade and Patit roads; vehicle failed to negotiate the corner and hit a power pole.

Nov. 26

Glasses found on E. Main Street by Washington Federal Bank. Deputies responded to Columbia County Public Transportation, on W. Cameron Street, for a complaint that a juvenile passenger had possibly been offered drugs by another juvenile passenger. Deputies attempted, unsuccessfully, to contact the passenger who overheard a suspicious conversation and made the initial complaint; under investigation.

Nov. 27

Dayton man, Jose Acevedo, arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, malicious mischief, criminal trespass and reckless endangerment after deputies were contacted regarding a vehicle being driven recklessly through a planted field on Lower Hogeye Road. Report of intoxicated person by railroad bridge on N. 2nd Street; deputies unable to locate. Suspicious vehicle reported in Best Western Hotel parking lot; contacted by deputies. Vehicle had struck a deer traveling toward Pomeroy and needed a tow.

Nov. 28

Female driver Amanda Toms arrested on suspicion of DUI and eluding a deputy after she failed to yield during a traffic stop on E. Main Street. Toms was apprehended after crashing into a parked car on N. 4th Street.

Nov. 29

Disturbance and trespassing reported on W. Main Street at Dayton Mercantile. Workers at the Tucannon Wind Farm near Mead Road reportedly heard gunshots and bullets whizzing overhead; deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area. Non-injury collision near milepost 367 on Highway 12; vehicle slid off roadway into the ditch.

Nov. 30

Deputies responded to a roll-over accident on the east county line, near milepost 388 on Highway 12. Two adults were in the vehicle, and one was transported by ambulance with minor injuries.

Dec. 1

Trespassing reported on Cemetery Hill Road; two females suspected of driving on private property in wheat fields causing damage. Theft on S. 6th Street; two Seahawks flags were taken from outside of a house. Theft on S. 4th Street, box trailer reported missing.
