“PINK OUT” RAISES $1,930 FOR MENDOZA FAMILY

A smiling team of Cardinal volleyball players surround Berenice Mendoza and her family as they award her with a "check" during Thursday's volleyball game against Dayton.

WAITSBURG - The Dayton Bulldogs and WP Cardinal volleyball players forfeited their traditional crimson and white warm-ups in favor of pink at last Thursday's game in Waitsburg. Fans on both sides got in on the act as well - donning pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and to raise funds for Prescott's Berenice Mendoza who is battling the disease.

WP coach Angie Potts said it meant a lot for her team to play hard since Berenice was in attendance at the game. The Cards lost, but fought hard and played well. A total of $1930 was raised for the family through T-shirt sales, a "pink" bake sa...
