NEW READING PROGRAM AT PRESCOTT LIBRARY

PRESCOTT - The Walla Walla Rural Library District has launched a new program to help foster the love of reading in children from birth through toddlerhood. The program is part of the library district's Early Literacy Program and focuses on helping young children gain the language skills needed to be successful in life.

Through the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten program, parents and caregivers can earn a free book for their child for every 100 books read and logged. Reading logs may be picked up at any Rural Library branch or downloaded at http:// www.wwrurallibrary.com/1000bbk. There are no requirements on which titles parents, daycare providers must read.
