Waitsburg/Prescott

September 7

Attempted burglary on W. 2nd Street, Prescott; suspect attempted to gain entry into the pump room under the Prescott Pool. Attempted burglary on Touchet Street, Prescott; suspect attempted to gain entry into a vacant house.

September 8

Domestic violence on E. 7th Street; suspect was gone but located on E. 6th street. Suspect was arrested for assault 4th degree domestic violence and resisting arrest. Suspect was also issued an infraction for open container of alcohol in public.

Dayton

August 29

Possible unlicensed driver at Country Village Courts. Vandalism and theft reported on Mead Road; two-way radio taken. Assault of dog reported on West Patit Avenue. Truck lost part of its load on Highway 12 near East Dayton Avenue junction. Suspicious circumstances on South 1st Street; distracted driver left vehicle door open at residence.

August 30

Possible abandoned vehicle reported on South 5th Street. Tree limb in roadway on Highway 12 near milepost 361. Reckless vehicle operating without headlights or taillights on Highway 12 after dark. Roofing materials dumped on property off Lower Whetstone Road. Male subject arrested following domestic violence call on suspicious of disorderly conduct. Male subject arrested on Department of Corrections warrant on North Touchet Road. Male subject arrested on Tucannon Road on suspicion of assault in first degree.

August 31

Stray dog on South Willow Street. Possible unlicensed driver observed on West Main Street. Pair of moose running down Highway 12 eastbound toward state park in the roadway after dark.

September 1

Barking dogs on South 5th Street. Suspicious truck reported on Eckler Mountain Road, belonged to bow hunters. Erratic driver on Highway 12 eastbound from Waitsburg; deputies unable to locate. Driver cited for suspended license on West Main Street. Verbal domestic reported on East Commerical Street. Lights to trailer broken, possible vandalism, on South 3rd Street. Threats made on West Cameron Street.

September 2

Swastika burned into carpet at church on South 3rd Street. Three car prowls occurred overnight: East Washington Avenue - ammunition taken; East Dayton Avenue - CDs and paperwork missing; and East Main Street - cash taken. A 15-year-old male student was arrested around noon at Dayton High School. The student had a knife and may have ingested methamphetamines. The student is being held at the Walla Walla Juvenile Justice Center. This incident is not related to the school lockdown that occurred last week on the Dayton School District campus. That incident has been investigated and was a false alarm. Domestic disturbance, verbal only, on West Cameron Street. Harassment reported on East Patit Avenue. Old scythe found at residence on West Cameron Street. Suspicious noise reported on South 3rd Street, wind bumping trash cans against residence.

September 3

Flattened road sign reported at junction of Kellogg Hollow and Whetstone roads. Theft reported on East Commercial Street. Trespassing reported on South 4th Street. Assault reported on South 3rd Street; unfounded. Vandalism reported on East Commercial Street; unfounded. Possibly intoxicated driver on Highway 12; deputies unable to locate. Stray dog picked up on East Commercial Street. Suspicious activity at the Dayton library; unfounded. Cows out on Patit Road. Noise complaint on South 4th Street. Dog barking on East Spring Street.

September 4

Two deer hit by vehicles in two separate incidents. Two horses missing from a residence in the 500 block of North Touchet Road: one dapple and one sorrel.

September 5

Threats reported at Country Village Courts. A man says he was nearly hit by a truck at the junction of Bulk Plant and Wagon roads. Semi-truck and trailer partially blocking entrance to Rooster's Brew on Highway 12. Dog reportedly locked in hot car with insufficient ventilation at golf course; deputies unable to locate. Trucks hauling straw reportedly causing traffic hazard on Payne Hollow Road. Suspicious persons reportedly seen the previous evening on East Dayton Avenue. Possible intoxicated driver headed east on Highway 12 reported by Walla Walla dispatch. Dog barking on South 4th Street.
